Convergence and Excavation

by Tyler Rico

Convergence and Excavation considers the relationship among seemingly disparate moments and timelines: A return visit to the coast of Maine in the summer of 2024, various crops of an undated found photograph, and an object dug from the ground in 2022; documentary photographs from a performance by Shaina Rico in which a small clay form was buried in December 2023. The publication sequences the images in a non-hierarchical structure, serving as a point of connection and a reflection on recovery and loss, memory, and time embedded in objects.
